about the job

  • Main responsibility is to ensure an appropriate level of stock is maintained for the business to achieve its sales goals. Key KPIs will be on shelf availability % of stock, warehouse fill rate %, inventory turnover days and inventory depreciation %. The role will involve:
  • Assembling and analysing all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions)
  • Assessing supplier performance in terms of fill rates and lead times and adjusting forecast models as appropriate
  • Working with the procurement team to ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner and to have visibility on inbound stock and its impact on future order quantities
  • Identify slow moving products to the Merchandising team and actively tracking the performance of sales mechanisms to clear these products
  • Working with the Merchandising team to develop sales assumptions of new brand/product launches and decide on stock allocations of the new brands/products to each country as appropriate
  • Continuous review of KPIs and adjusting forecasting models to ensure KPIs are hit.
  • Continuously improving forecasting techniques, method, and approach
  • Measuring the impact of forecast accuracy
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets)
  • Working closely with local supply chain managers and merchandisers to ensure local knowledge is incorporated into the forecasting process and to ensure KPIs are being met.


skills and experience required

  • 2 years of experience in a demand/supply planning role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or related field preferred
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • FMCG experience preferred
  • Advanced excel capabilities required
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with in-country supply chain managers as well as merchandising/marketing/procurement teams
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Hands-on and solution-oriented
