Singapore has emerged as a prime location in the Asia-Pacific region for data centres, which have seen a surge despite a slowdown in the global economy and Singapore property market.
The Singapore Data Centre Supply Report by Structure Research found that Singapore’s growth, political stability and business friendliness made it a preferred location for cloud demand and cloud providers. The entire colocation market in Singapore is slated to grow to an impressive S$1.56 billion by 2020.
The Singapore Government has recognised the importance of the sector and is looking to establish, through the Infocomm Development Authority, Economic Development Board and JTC Corporation, a Data Centre Park in Jurong in an effort to engage multinational corporations.
The proliferation of data centres in Singapore has led to a strong demand for the following talent.
