Are human resources jobs in demand?
Throughout 2019, we saw strong demand for HR jobs in Singapore particularly for specialised HR professionals with prior experience in change management and digital transformation.
Many companies also hired HR business partners to increase collaboration and improve workforce productivity within the organisation, as well as forward-looking talent acquisition professionals who have expertise in workforce planning.
Following the market trends that we observed in 2019, we expect to see a higher talent demand for specialised HR professionals to help drive change and workforce efficiency in parallel with each other.

candidates’ expectations and behaviours in 2020
Many candidates whom we engaged with last year were willing to forgo their bonuses when the right opportunity was presented to them. This is particularly prevalent in the banking industry, where candidates expressed interest to explore up-and-coming areas such as digital banking, FMCG and life sciences.
Employers also invested more in fostering a healthy and collaborative culture as well as building an attractive employer brand. This would include developing and implementing professional development programmes that will equip their workforce with in-demand digital skills that could give them a competitive edge.
