The key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance monitoring and testing plan, performing testing on topics such as anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), FATCA/CRS, tax, etc.
- Monitor and track compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures across various business functions.
- Identify compliance risks, issues, and trends and proactively recommend corrective actions.
- Assess current testing processes and suggest improvements to enhance robustness of the programme.
- Take initiative in tracking and evaluating significant issues.
- Build and develop relationships with business and other stakeholders to support and monitor the risk environment closely.
- Work closely with Management to ensure strong understanding of business strategy and risk-related issues and communicate these via continuing risk assessments.
skills and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance from a recognised institution
- Minimum 5 years of relevant compliance monitoring and/or testing experience in the financial service industry, ideally a Private Bank
- Comprehensive knowledge of business standards, regulatory changes and industry practices in a banking environment
