About the Role
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the General Ledger and Accounts Payable teams while serving as the go-to technical advisor on all accounting matters. This role requires a proactive leader who can oversee key financial functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence.
In this position, you will manage the month-end close process, including the review of journal entries, reconciliation of the general ledger, and monthly fluctuation analysis. You will ensure the smooth functioning of the Accounts Payable operations, maintaining timely vendor and consumer payments. Effective cash management and treasury oversight will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring the sufficiency of funds and the maximization of returns.
Collaboration with the Compliance team will be essential to maintain adherence to MAS regulations and meet reporting deadlines. You will ensure timely and accurate filings for corporate income tax, GST, and withholding tax, upholding all relevant regulatory standards. Overseeing internal and statutory audits will be another key task, ensuring timely completion and resolving any arising issues efficiently.
This role also involves developing and refining finance policies and procedures to improve business relevance and operational efficiency. You will be expected to provide functional support for new project rollouts and manage a high-performing team, nurturing their development and growth. Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives will be crucial to enhancing the department’s effectiveness. Additionally, you will handle any ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Skills and Experience Needed
The ideal candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with an Accountancy Degree or ACCA qualification. You will bring at least 10-12 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years leading a sizable team and 3 years as an auditor in a reputable accounting firm.Strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role. You should be adept at navigating a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement. Experience collaborating with Senior Management and a solid understanding of FRS, tax, and transfer pricing are required. Familiarity with SAP is considered advantageous.
