As part of their business expansion, they are seeking a Market Research Manager to play a critical role in identifying market growth opportunities, analyzing trends, and providing data-driven insights that guide strategic decision-making and require close collaboration with their HQ in Japan due to business requirements.
About the role
Reporting to the Regional Director, your key responsibilities would includes:
- Lead and manage end-to-end market research projects, utilizing internal and external data sources to gather market intelligence across ASEAN and ANZ regions.
- Identify emerging market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to uncover new business opportunities and inform strategy.
- Partner with management and key stakeholders to identify critical business challenges, develop research briefs, and create research plans that deliver actionable insights.
- Design, execute, and manage primary consumer research, ensuring high-quality data collection, advanced analysis, and meaningful reporting.
- Translate complex data into clear and impactful insights, preparing reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders in Japan.
- Collaborate closely with Japan HQ and internal business divisions to align partnership and channel strategies with broader corporate objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, government agencies, and research institutions to enhance market positioning.
- Provide monthly management reports with key insights and recommendations for business growth.
Skills and experience required

- 6-8 years of relevant experience in market research, data analysis, and business intelligence.
- Proven ability to analyze public and private sector data to formulate effective business strategies based on macro-economic trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
- Fluent in both English and Japanese (preferably JLPT N1) to effectively communicate with Japan HQ and global teams.
