About the Job
As an R&D Chef, you will drive the creation of new food products from ideation to market launch by exploring culinary trends, experimenting with ingredients, and working closely with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities include supporting product, process, and packaging development, conducting market research, sourcing ingredients, and documenting formulations. Additionally, you will assist in high-profile presentations, contribute to product showcases, and oversee kitchen operations while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Culinary Degree/Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing spice pastes, sauces, condiments, or frozen meals.
- Background in R&D product development, collaborating with Food Scientists or Technologists.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, HACCP principles, and food safety regulations.
- Proven track record in transforming product concepts from development to large-scale production.
- Excellent skills in organization, communication, and project management.
- Creative, adaptable, and able to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Open to working in Tuas with flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
