Regional Account Manager (Media & Subscription Sales)

Our client is a leading publication company, specialising in the shipping and seafood and energy business. With concrete plans for the future, its objective is to develop new business opportunities and boost its presence in the market. It is looking to build a team of passionate change-drivers who will work closely with the management team to bring the organisation to new heights, and to deliver strong, fast and sustainable growth in 2025.
key responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Manage a portfolio of 50–60 clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Drive subscription renewals, identifying opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
- Handle accounts with varying contract sizes, ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 100,000 annually.
- Provide insights and support to clients in industries such as shipping, commercial fisheries, and trade.
- New Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the client base within the APAC region.
- Regional Focus:
- Cover APAC markets with a particular focus on China.
- Work closely with the Shanghai-based advertising sales and marketing team.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with the editorial and data teams to deliver value-driven solutions to clients.
- Liaise with the advertising sales team to align on market strategies.
qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in account management and sales within the media or subscription industry.
- Ability to liaise with Chinese speaking clients fluently.
- Strong understanding of subscription-based business models and report selling.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of industries such as shipping, oil and gas, seafood, or related sectors is a plus.
