Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable legal, Singapore standards, codes of practice, and other EHS requirements, providing clear guidance to the team.
- Develop, maintain, and test emergency response plans, organize CERT audits, and conduct relevant drills.
- Act as the primary liaison with local authorities on EHS matters, license renewals, and representation in key regulatory meetings.
- Oversee incident investigations, track corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution of non-conformance issues.
- Conduct and manage risk assessments, site inspections, and environmental/industrial hygiene samplings, implementing risk reduction measures.
- Plan and conduct EHS audits, training, meetings, and promotional activities to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
- Establish and manage EHS objectives and continuous improvement programs.
- Manage contractor activities for in-house operations and shutdown maintenance (SDM).
- Spearhead initiatives for the implementation of Safety Case requirements and mitigative measures for Safety Critical Events in Major Hazard Installations.
- Collaborate across organizational levels to promote a strong safety culture.
- Lead projects for HSE improvement, including organizing annual safety campaigns.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in EHS roles, including at least 3 years in manufacturing or chemical plants, ideally on Jurong Island.
- Familiarity with chemical processes and unit operations.
- Diploma or higher qualification, with mandatory registration as a WSH Officer (MOM) and Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ISO14001 and SS651 (ISO45001) management systems.
- Ability to interpret P&ID drawings and apply this knowledge effectively.
- Self-driven with a collaborative working style and a commitment to safety excellence.
